Al-Kawthar University is established to bridge the gap in modern education by integrating Islamic principles with contemporary learning. Recognising the need for an institution that nurtures both intellectual and ethical development, a group of seasoned educationists with international experience have founded Al-Kawthar University.

The university aims to provide a balanced education, combining rigorous academic training with the moral and ethical values inspired by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the early generations of Muslims. Al-Kawthar offers a platform where students are nurtured to become accomplished professionals and enlightened individuals.

Through a carefully designed curriculum, experienced faculty, and a supportive learning environment, Al-Kawthar University is dedicated to producing graduates capable of contributing positively to society while upholding Islamic values.

A significant part of our future vision involves the integration of healthcare education. Our State-of-the-Art The Modern Hospital, located on campus, will serve as the cornerstone for establishing the Faculties of Health and Medical Sciences, and Pharmacy. These faculties will offer programmes such as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), BS in Human Nutrition & Dietetics (BHND), and BS in Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS).

Our commitment extends to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and fosters cultural exchange among our students. Through these endeavours, we aim to provide a comprehensive education that empowers students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in their respective fields.

Ustadh Asim Ismail is a prolific social entrepreneur and a widely-sought trainer and consultant in education and Islamic studies.

He is the founder and CEO of Skylight Education Solutions and the principal of its flagship school Fajr Academy. He has seventeen years of experience in the private Islamic education sector (including serving as Head of the Islamic Department at Reflections School), with dedicated research in education for the last eleven years, as well as eighteen years of book publishing experience.

He is also the founder and CEO of Alwasila Trust, whose first social service project began sixteen years ago and now runs 12 projects across six countries.

At Al-Kawthar University our faculty is groomed to know that great teachers need to empathise with their students. It's not what we teach but how you teach it that makes the difference. Learners should be encouraged to feel and be emotionally involved in whatever they are taught. A good teacher makes them laugh, surprises them and pulls them into the story he teaches. In fact, he makes them feel a part of the story, mostly the hero or the heroine.... In our stories, we do not need to tell our students that the dragons exist. They already know that dragons are there – they saw them in their lives and dreams in many shapes of evil. On our campus, we are going to let our students believe that dragons or all forms of evil can be killed. Our students will also believe that no matter how much suffering there is in following the truth, ultimately it is the truth that wins – and the hero of Karbala is Hazrat Imam Hussain and Yazeed is ultimately defeated even though he won.

Having been an educator for so many years one of my important tasks is to make my faculty learn that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit. There can be no teaching and no knowledge without emotion. We may be aware of a truth, yet until we have felt its force, it is not ours.

As the Vice Chancellor of Al-Kawthar University, our utmost aspiration is to witness our esteemed institution transcend boundaries and emerge as a leading University, both regionally and globally. Together, let us embark on a journey of excellence, driven by our collective determination, unwavering commitment, and relentless pursuit of knowledge.
